My new passion- Pilates

On a bright sunny day after waking up, instantly i decided that i should hit the gym, take care of my health. I lost myself , i became machine with a vicious cycle home, work, home . I am just 30. No partying, no entertainment. In spite everything going great at work and home, fame & love – i felt incomplete, something stuck in my throat. Then this phrases flashed in my mind “variety is spice of life” be kind to yourself , dont die when you are still living. So i decided to make way and time for me . First step is activate you are body, let me hit the gym. Then i have decided myself not to go for routine machine workout , let me focus on  Pilates – its a  instant recharge for body , mind and soul. It rejuvenated my body and mind. though i skip the class few days now & then, i do it at my home. My kid also accompanies me & its more fun. Its not about work out, its all about giving time to yourself. Respect yourself . As always said ‘Health is wealth’. Not just the Physical health , mental health is more significant and that what controls all your senses. Blink your eyes , turn around, appreciate small things, activities. Dont let anger shadow your beautiful face unless your spouse is eloped with someone, or your house is on fire, or your family members fell sick. Travel with kids out of your country

Hi!! folks. The right time to plan a vacation is Now**.  What is the right age to take your baby/toddler along with you for a family vacation?

Here is my experience –

There is no certain thing as right age, its just when the parents are ready & primed mentally & physically to handle their needs and tantrums.

For the parents– First make a promise to each other- what come may , you guyz are gonna handle it with a very chilled mind, just inhale deeply and exhale.

-Limit your personal luggage only to check-in. Try not to add you baggage in cabin luggage. Carry a back pack or two way bag so you can share the weight on your shoulders equally and you will not feel the extra weight. Take instant mix baby powders for baby food , formula powder. u you use zip lock small pouches to pack to save the space in your bag. Big bag diapers, pack them loose, don’t  stuff the whole pack. Dont forget your sunglasses and hat.

For mom: If your baby is on breastfed , prefer wearing a shirt and carry a scarf. for the baby or kid give additional hood sweater.

Daddy: just follow moms orders

BABY BAG: Make sure not to lose it anywhere and always carry it with you. The most precious thing in your journey.

Contents of the bag: Diapers (small pack), wet wipes (pocket pack), diaper disposable covers, 1 medium size spread sheet to use on the diaper changing tray, 3 feeding bottles(if its overseas travel), baby finger foods, i pad if your toddler or kid likes it and story books

Utilize in flight amenities- Baby foods- heinz pulps,  take the air hostess help to get the baby formula ready or to sterilize your feeding bottles. Use wet towels and tissues to wipes baby face or mouth.

Do not pack : Extra diapers, baby food – buy them in the local supermarkets. Strollers – try to rent at the the city you visit instead carrying the all the way through.

Location and stay: if you plan to reside in hotel, u will have a hassle free vacation as they have all time kitchen and house keeping. Try to prefer low budget hotels than service apartments.

If you dont have an option & to choose only service apartments – make sure to grab cartons of milk, bread and jam, cookies, flavored milk before you go back to your room daily.

Always carry your baby bag on your day tours with 3-4 diapers, pocket wet-wipe pack, fill the feeding bottles with formula and prepare it with warm water wherever u require. Take additional formula in small zip-lock cover if you expect a long day tour. Carry a Hand sanitizer. if you can accommodate take a bottle washer liquid in tiny bottle. If you cant avail warm water at site seeing , pack a flask with warm water.

INFERTILITY ON THE RISE

Many couple wonder why pregnancy does not occur even with frequent intercourse!  As fertility specialists it is not an easy task to convince them there are several factors to achieving pregnancy. Unhealthy lifestyle with improper diet is playing a large part in infertility. These factors may cause oxidative stress which impacts the functional capacity of the sperm and ovarian reserve.  In recent times there is a rise in male infertility. One in three couples are affected with male fertility.  Childhood mumps, varicocele, smoking and gross obesity may be contributory factors .A small percentage may also be of genetic origin. A simple semen analysis along with a physical examination and a few blood  investigations will  provide us with a definitive answer .

Athough they look normal on semen analysis , functionally they are inadequate. Sperm production is thermosensitive and any factor which increases the intratesticular temperature may cause low sperm counts. Laptops with heat generation and cell phones with low frequency radiation play a large role.

Management depends on the number of sperms , their movement speed and appearance.A course of medication for 2-3 months can be offered to patients with abnormalities in the above mentioned factors .

When medications fail , An IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) can be performed.It involves washing the impurities away from the semen sample and injecting the best selected sperms directly into the uterus , increasing the chances of fertilisation , thus pregnancy .In patients with Azoospermia (no sperms in the semen sample) we can surgically retrieve the sperm using advanced micro procedures (MESA/TESA/TESE) and individually fertilise the eggs (retrieved from the wife ) and place the embryos back into the uterus . This revolutionary technique is called ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection).These techniques require immense skill and experience.

HOW TO DEAL WITH THE UNEXPECTED STUFF WHEN YOU ARE EXPECTING

Trust me Pregnancy is awful until you see your baby.

You can make it pleasant journey only if you start accepting it as a physiological change  in your body but not a disease.

Let me start from the beginning – It starts like this:

STAGE 1– INITIAL “AWE STUCK” PHASE: where everybody goes yay! wow!! Sparkling eyes in family **. Lots of wishes & advice’s pouring in. The good part is – you are happy to accept them at this phase.

STAGE 2: THE LONGEST PHASE – The beginning of  depression. where u start feeling lonely, low, and some unexplained feeling that makes u irritable.

Tips to overgrow this-

  • Keep the stuff which makes you feel nausea , vomiting away .
  • Re innovate your room with the things you like to see on the wall.
  • Dont take break from work unless the doctor strictly instructs.
  • Dont stay in closed rooms.
  • take your passion as first work
  • Go for yoga
  • Dont use laptops, ipad or phone for longer times.
  • breathe fresh air, go for walks, dont rely on second person . Bring that friend inside you, help yourself, enjoy every movement. stay close to nature. keep yourself occupied till you go to bed.
  • Eat every 2 hrs, small bites.

Third phase: Anxious perinatal stage. – keep your hospital bag ready. Go for foot spa. Encourage warm bath.

Things in your hospital bag 

  • baby dress
  • wrapper
  • towel
  • napkin
  • diapers
  • wetwipes
  • head to toe baby wash
  • mittens, cap, sweater
  • mommy sanitary pads
  • feeding braciers
  • breast pads
  • front button shirts for mom
  • butter moisturizer for mom.

Initial labour stage:

  • when you start feeling that abdomen tightening, if you are primi/ first time pregnant- go for warm bath, continue walking, take deep breaths, until you can.
  • DONOT HAVE ANY SOLID FOOD, STAY ON SIMPLE LIQUID DIET.
  • when the tightening process increases every 30 min approx go to hospital.

Warning signs that to observe for :

  • Water break- u feel that ur pants got wet spontaneously & fluid is from vagina not urination.
  • Vaginal bleeding.

TIPS TO EASE YOUR LABOUR – RELAX TAKE A DEEP BREATHS DONT PUSH BEFORE THE RIGHT TIME. CARRY A SMILEY PRESSURE BALL – KEEP PRESSING WHENEVER U FEEL YOUR CONTRACTION.

Finally you can see the real glow after the little baby comes out and feels your skin.

Post delivery: Stay positive

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT, you are the proud mom, with the power of giving a life to other creature apart from god.

Always interact with your baby, keep smiling, ur baby friend can feel, listen and smell everything through you.

LACTATION TIPS: Always feed the baby in sitting posture or slight inclination with good support at your back and baby on your hand with head up.

Wait till 3rd day for your breasts to get ready for lactation. Baby just need few drops of colostrum  till then. Dont hurry up on formula. Formula feed can make your baby plump but breast feed has 100 nutrients more than formula and the baby immunity to sustain any ill health is increased by breast feeding.

Timing the feed: NO TIMING , DON’T!!. If the baby cries for 5 mins give the feed for the first 1mth. Babies just ask for nipple for soothing relief and get back to sleep.  So you notice they feel hungry faster.

  • keep changing the sides for feeding.
  • Express milk if the baby is not on feed for long time or else you will end up in lactation mastitis.
  • take a rattle in one hand to keep baby awake when feeding.
  • if the baby passes stools, change diaper and continue feeding.
  • some times in the first few days the baby experiences transient diarrhea, which will subside soon.
  • If you undergo c-section, dont lift weights,dont bend your spine if you wanna lift something from ground level bend your knee and keep your spine posture straight.
  • Enjoy your motherhood.
